The Kaikōura Ocean Research Institute is a registered charity meaning that we rely on funding, and your donations to enable us to continue protecting and researching Kaikōura’s beautiful marine environment.

Research and Admin Costs

Research equipment allows KORI to carry out its field work researching our marine mammal populations, and protecting our little penguin colony.

KORI's marine mammal surveys, and Hector's dolphin health studies help us understand our local species, and the threats facing them. Fuel costs alone can be anywhere between $50-100 NZD/day.
